72Splott - a district of Cardiff.
Splott is a part of the City of Cardiff, the capital of Wales. The name derives from the old English name for land, the dictionary offering SPLOTT: speck, blot, patch of land. Splott was built up in the late 19th century on the land of two farms called Upper Splott and Lower Splott Farms. Situated to the east and south of the city centre it was once characterised by its huge steelworks and rows of tightly knit terraced houses.
